I'm going to be in a burlesque book!

It is time for me to come out of the burlesque closet. I have an alter ego and her name is Juicy Malone. She’s juicy, fun and little bit dangerous. My burlesque story is going to be featured in a beautiful coffee table book, “Vixens Revealed”, created by my burlesque teacher and friend Cat LaCahoie, aka Vixen DeVille. The book contains vulnerable essays and amazing photos from twelve very different women who all undertook a burlesque journey with Cat . While the stories show a remarkable range of circumstances and reasons for developing our burlesque persona and act, ultimately what we all got was SELF-LOVE, FREEDOM, AND FUN! As I share in my story, ”Being a campy, bawdy, sassy, plump lady was celebrated in this world... I felt like I had to quiet and dim myself in my day-to-day professional world.”

I recently got to meet two other fellow Vixens who will also be featured in the book at the after-party for Cat’s brilliant and highly entertaining one-woman show, Vixen Revealed. (See above from left, Vixen herself, me, Juicy Malone, Lor L’Amour and Cherry Cider). In her show, Cat shares how she became an international burlesque star who eats fire, walks on glass, does magic and aerial hoop and who secretly had her own body image issues. Cat is more than an amazing burlesque teacher and performer. She is a highly effective coach, psychologist, and women’s leader. She’s a regular fire-eating burlesque women’s empowerment guru. She is a joy. I am so grateful that she helped me find my inner Juicy. I cannot wait to see the book!
